The expert said, "Milk contains tryptophan which is an amino acid that helps us sleep better. Tryptophan converts into serotonin, the hormone that gives you pleasure. Serotonin also increases the amount of melatonin in your body and melatonin is the hormone responsible for good sleep."
She further shared, "Milk also has melatonin, a hormone which functions as a neurotransmitter and aids in regulating sleep-wake patterns. Specific proteins contained in milk are supposed to trigger GABA receptors of the brain which help in reducing anxiety and stress thereby instigating sleep."
"Whereas ghee is one of the most ancient significant Ayurvedic remedies used. Besides the many benefits for stiffness in joints, ghee is a great remedy for cough because of its rich antioxidant profile. These antioxidants can offer protection to the body from the damage caused by free radicals," the expert said.
