In a pan, add a cup of water and 3-4 basil leaves. Let this water come to a boil and then let it simmer for 10-15 minutes. Strain the water. Drink this water through the day. You can have it 2-3 times a day if you suffer from acidity often. You can add honey to the water for flavour.
Another way of enjoying the benefits of basil leaves for acidity is chewing it as is. This provides instant relief from acidity. If you feel acidic after every meal then chewing a few leaves post meals can help prevent heartburn.
