Seeing her today, one can't say she experienced all the symptoms of PCOD. Some common symptoms of the disease are unusual weight gain, excessive hair growth, irregular periods among others.
Sara Ali Khan's Weight Loss Journey
Sara Ali Khan was once 96 kilos. Due to PCOD, she gained a lot of weight and this condition also made it really difficult for her to lose weight. Before she made her big debut in Bollywood, she didn't look like a heroine. She had to lose a lot of weight to make it to the big screen.
So, how did she do that? How did Sara Ali Khan lose weight?
In an interview with Hindustan Times, Sara Ali Khan talked about her weight loss journey. She said, “I remember saying ‘you know what I am going to do it’ and I went to the gym and did 3 crunches with a weighted ball in my hand and I couldn’t do more because I was heavy and I was not fit. I left the gym and came home and said that ‘you know what, I don’t know if I can do this. Maybe I can’t'.”
So, did she gave up on weight loss? No! She further said, “I woke up the next day and went back to the gym and did 4 crunches, and then I did 5 and then I did 6 and I really don’t need to boast but I am down for a crunch challenge right now. I did a lot of abs this morning.”
Women who suffer from PCOD need to change their lifestyles completely to fight the disease. Sara Ali Khan, while talking about PCOD in an interview said, “It is one of the things that I struggle with to date because the only real cure is a constant, consistent, focused and determined lifestyle change. There is no shortcut to it.”

Talking about dealing with PCOD, she further said, “For me, the most functional way to deal with PCOD is to eat healthy, sleep in a regimented way- try to regularise your body clock and to get in a certain about of work out every day if you can so that your hormone levels remain stable.”
Sara Ali Khan also shared an old video of herself some time back, basically before her transformation and we really couldn't recognise her.
