High heels surely seem fashionable. No matter what outfit you are wearing, heels instantly elevate your look. However, it has a lot of downsides to it and the style quotient definitely doesn't minimise the risk factors.

We know you love wearing heels and it is okay to wear them sometimes but wearing heels all the time is a big no due to the harmful effects. Read on to know why you should say no to high heels.

Joint Pain

You may be accustomed to feeling some pain after a long day of walking in heels. However, this is just the beginning because heels don't provide any comfort to your fett, thus, all the pressure is on your ankles and knees.

Also, these shoes prevent your feet from rotating in a natural way, therefore, your feet are struck in a straight and unnatural position. Thus, there is a lot of stress on the joints which increases the symptoms of arthritis.

Calluses

Another downside to high heels is calluses. It is not necessarily dangerous to your health but isn't attractive as well. When you wear heels, your feet are put under pressure, and this pressure as well as constant rubbing can cause calluses.

Lower Back Pain

Heels are a great idea if you have to sit for a considerable amount of time. However, if you know that you are going to be standing and walking a lot, then you should ditch the heels. This is because your pelvis is pushed forward while you are wearing heels, thus putting a pressure on your lower back. Thus, it will result in back pain sooner or later.

Ingrown Toenails

The line of your toes do have an angle to them. However, your heels can't maintain that angle as they are designed in a certain way. This is why your big or little toe gets the most pressure, thus causing the nails of these toes to grow inwards. If it is left untreated, then it can lead to infections.

Posture

Wearing heels puts a lot of pressure on your toes. This causes the rest of your body to compensate for the pressure that is on your forefoot. Therefore, you will be leaning forward. Thus, this will affect your posture significantly which is a cause of concern.

Bad posture has a lot of downsides to it and can lead to several health problems.
