There are fewer people whom you see with a perfect body posture. Otherwise, nowadays even teenagers are seen slouching and standing with a flat stomach. A good body posture is not just significant for better appearance, but also it can affect blood circulation in the body.

If you experience tightness, stiffness and soreness around your neck area, there can be chances that your body posture is not okay. This doesn’t happen overnight; such body symptoms only arise after you have been indulged into wrong physical habits from a very long time. Now that your body is signalling to make amends, its time you look after yourself. 

Failing The Wall Test 

The wall test is the easiest and probably the most efficient way to identify if your body posture is up to the marks. All you need to do is stand against a wall. Keep about six inches of gap between your heels and the wall while doing so. Anyone with a good body posture will have about two inches of space between lower back and neck. Also, your head, shoulders, and hips will make contact with the wall. If not, you will need to look after your habits, routine and lifestyle to make things right.

Using chairs every day has made us so comfortable with it that now we hardly talk about the best way to sit on it so that it doesn’t affect our body’s posture. Slouching once in a while is okay, but if it has become your habit and you feel troubled while sitting straight, you are probably putting your muscles and soft tissues in a problem.

In fact, as per health reports, this condition is called hyperlordosis, wherein a person sticks their hips out making it look like that they have a curve in the lower back (yoga for back pain). If you think you are also having this problem and some people have pointed it out, perhaps you also need to take a closer look and understand if you actually have this problem. Try standing straight in front of the mirror first, then turn sidewards and try to compare your hips and back with other parts. You may also ask your other family members to help you in this.
