Cardamoms are a staple in most Indian households as our cooking style uses a lot of its aroma and flavour even if it a regular tea. But this spice is much more than just flavour and aroma. It has infact so many health bemefits which must be made full use off especially today when our health is the most important. Here is a list of what this little green spice can do for you. 

Digestion

Cardamoms have a strong aroma which activated our sesnse of smell and taste and also aids digestion. It helps in secretion of enzymes especially when you have had some heavy meals. It treats gas, constipation and indigestion as it has chemicals which aare said to increase the movement of food in the intestines.

Cough & Cold

Packed with antioxidants, cardamoms are avaible in green and black. The black ones are great for curing some respiratory problems and colds and cough. It is suggested that you steep some pods in water with honey and have it when you want to treat flu. It is great for spreading warmth through the body.

Blood Circulation

Cardamom is great when you want to increase the blood circulation in your body. It is good for your lungs as well which is why it works as a great remedy for respiratory disorders. It maintains vitality and keeps your energy levels up.

Bad Breadth

This remedy is ages old as I know of an old college teacher of mine who used to chew on cardamoms the whole day for a clean breadth. It workd wonders! Cardamom has a sweet aroma and a major component of cardamom oil called cineole. This component is said to have antimicrobial properties which help in promoting oral hygiene. It also fights bacteria that causes bad breath.

High Blood Pressure

It is recomeded that you have a mix of 1 tap coriander with a pinch of cardamom and cup of freshly squeezed peach juice if you want to lower your high blood pressure. 

Longevity

Drinking cardamom tea  has been known as a secret to long life as per some Asian traditions. This tea is said to help in flushing out the toxins work on cleaning or internal systems.

Blood Sugar Levels

Not the green cardamom, here the black one steps in. Also called moti elaichi in Hindia, black cardamom is said to be good for treating high blood sugar levels. The presence of manganese in it, helps in controlling blood sugar levels. 

Sleeping Issues

If you are marred by sleepless nights then vesides staying away from the screen time 2 hours before sleeping, it s recommeded that you apply or spary or even smell directly, some cardamom essential oil as its fragrance soothes you. It is said to be great for calming you down if you have some kind of anxiety or restlessness.
