What Is Swine Flu

“Swine flu, also known as H1N1, is a viral infection caused by the influenza virus. In 2009, the World Health Organization declared H1N1 a global epidemic, resulting in approximately 284400 deaths worldwide. This infection primarily affects pigs, targeting their lungs. In humans, H1N1 attacks the respiratory system, including the throat, nose, and lungs. The virus is highly contagious, spreading easily from person to person through the air. When we breathe, the virus enters our body, making it essential to take preventive measures,” said Dr Seema.
