Halim seeds or aliv seeds are the new seeds which are trending today thanks to the nutritionists who are bringing forth all the foods and habits that must be incorporated to be a fitter you. Nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar also shared on her Instagram on how these seeds are beneficial for us. 

Nutrients Galore

These seeds are rich in vitamins A, C, E, folate, calcium, phosphorous, iron, magnesium and protein. It has all the important amino acids as well.

Celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar shared on her Instagram that “In Ayurveda, it has been regarded as one of the foods which help in recovery postpartum." She also shared that it can be consumed by “everyone, especially lactating women, children reaching puberty, adults facing hair loss, patchy skin, alopecia, etc. It also helps in destressing.”

The best way to consume them as recommended by her is to have them with ghee, coconut and jaggery. They can also be had during bedtime by mixing a small pinch of it in milk.




Indigestion or even constipation, these seeds are said to be an effective remedy. They must be consumed on a daily basis as they eventually help in clearing the digestive tract effectively. This provides relief but you must remember not to have too much as that can give you an upset stomach.

Menstrual Cycle


Halim seeds are heavy on phytochemicals which are like estrogen. This hormone is crucial for the female body. The seeds have active ingredients which help in regulating the menstrual cycle. 

Iron & Haemoglobin

These seeds are very good supplements for you especially if you suffer from iron deficiency. Just a tablespoon of these seeds is equivalent to 12 mg of iron which means 60% of the daily requirement for iron.  these seeds post consulting your doctor, for 2 months, it will help in addressing anemia and boosting hemoglobin levels.

The seeds are very rich in plant-based active compounds whichare said to help in enhancing lung functions. Daily consumption can help relieve the symptoms of asthma but it is Dest to ask your doctor. To treat a cough, it is recommended by many that you chew on these seeds.
