A daily walk is an important part of the lives of millions of people. It's an easy and convenient way to get exercise that is said to be good for both physical and mental health. It makes your heart healthier, helps you lose weight, improves your mood, and makes you live longer generally. But shockingly, this harmless habit can be causing damage to your joints if not following proper guidelines.
Risks of Walking the wrong way
Even though walking is usually thought of as a low-impact exercise, it can cause joint pain, stress, or even damage that lasts for a long time in some situations.
1. Muscle soreness and joint pain
Leg soreness, particularly in the thighs and calves, is a common sign of excessive walking. Chronic or severe pain is a sign of overdoing it, although some discomfort is normal. Moreover, walking repetitively on hard surfaces, can strain the knees and hips, causing joint pain that can worsen arthritis or lead to illnesses such as runner's knee.
2.Foot pain and blisters
Excessive walking can lead to foot pain, particularly in the heels, arches, and toes. This ache could be caused by plantar fasciitis, a swelling of the ligament connecting the heel bone to the toes. Foot inflammation is often caused by repetitive stress, especially when walking long distances without proper rest or gear. Blisters are a common issue while walking for long periods of time, especially when wearing improper shoes.
3.Lower back pain
Walking can cause lower back pain, especially with poor posture and weak core muscles. Walking can strain the spine and lower back muscles due to its repetitive motion and weight-bearing nature. Walking or standing for extended durations can be painful due to pain.

4.Swelling
Another common symptom of excessive walking is edema, or swelling in the feet and ankles. This swelling is caused by the accumulation of fluid in the tissues, and it is frequently exacerbated by poor circulation or prolonged standing or walking.
