When we think about yoga and Bollywood together, the first person who comes to our mind is Shilpa Shetty. She started doing yoga at the age of 18 when she began suffering from chronic spondylitis and even in her 40’s, she is one of the most fit actresses, all thanks to yoga.
She feels that yoga is not just a form of exercise but also a discipline. It helps her to stay flexible and at the same time helps her keep her mind stay calm. She practices yoga three times a week and her favourite asanas are Bhujangasana, Vakrasana, Naukasana, and Adho Mukha Shavanasana.
Kareena Kapoor Khan
Size zero in Bollywood means Kareena Kapoor Khan. She has always practiced yoga to maintain her fit body and practices some of the most difficult asanas with ease such as headstand and chakrasana. She also managed to lose weight post – pregnancy by practicing yoga daily.
In an interview with a publication, Kareena Kapoor said that, “I am completely into yoga. I think yoga has changed my life. My morning yoga practice that I do for an hour-and-a-half every day is something that keeps me going. The day I don't do it, I feel that my day doesn't go well and I haven't completed a task that I had to do.”
Malaika Arora Khan
Malaika Arora was introduced to yoga by Malaika Arora Khan and trains with Payal Gidwani Tiwari. She enjoys the breathing that yoga involves and she also feels that it has helped her improve her concentration level as it involves focus. She also feels that her skin glows because of suryanamaskar as it helps to improve the blood circulation within the body. Her favourite asanas are dhanushasana, padmasana and suryanamaskar.
The Bong beauty is also a big follower of yoga. She has released a DVD named Bipasha Basu: Love Yourself but she is not someone who only workouts at the gym but also practices yoga on a daily basis to keep herself physically and mentally fit.
Her trainer is Deanne Panday. She begins her day with a suryanamaskar and follows it with an unique yoga module that has been specially designed for her. She does 108 rounds of this module and no wonder she has such a fit body.
