There are many methods through which we can get rid of unwanted body hair. Among them, waxing happens to be the most convenient one. Not in the terms of less pain, but only when it comes to longevity. After all, who wants to go through that pain again and again! 

While there are many advantages of waxing such as getting rid of dead skin cells, tanning and other impurities, it also has some cons. Especially during winters, people happen to burn their skins while applying the hot wax. Also, if you are not experienced and are trying hair removal at home, you might burn your skin. 

No matter what the reason is, if by accident you suffer a wax burn, there are a few home remedies that can give you relief. However, these are only for minor burns. If you have something severe, such as a second-degree burn, immediately visit a doctor to avoid further damage.

Known as one of the most hydrating natural ingredients, aloe vera is great to heal burns and other wounds. As soon as so you experience burn apply a leaf directly on the wound to reduce the sensation or burning. This is just to heal minor burns and keep it from forming a boil. However, just pat the leaf on the wound and don’t rub it to keep yourself from getting hurt any further. 

Honey

After aloe vera, honey is considered most effective to treat burns, as it is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial in nature. However, this also is to heal minor burns. All you need to do is, use a cotton swab, dip it in a teaspoon of honey and massage gently on your wound. This will help in reducing the pain and burning sensation.

If you can’t find anything at your home post getting burned from hot wax, you can rely on cold water. You can immediately run the wound under cold water for approximately 20 minutes. Post that, clean it very gently with mild soap. If it still hurt and feels painful then apply a cold compress to the area. Applying ice directly is not advisable, just give your skin a cooling effect, using cold water.

Neosporin

Not a natural remedy, but reliable and an effective one. Neosporin has been used in Indian households for the longest of time. It is an antibacterial product, available in both powder and ointment forms. When dealing with wax burns, it is best to go with the ointment. Take a little bit on your fingertip and cover the damaged skin. Make sure that your hands are sanitised (how to improve toilet hygiene) or use clean medical gauze.

Coconut Oil

Used for several purposes, coconut oil is also great for burns, as it is packed with vitamin E. The nutrient is great for healing purpose. Just take a teaspoon of coconut oil (how to use coconut oil for hair) and massage on the mark. The amazing properties present coconut oil would help lighten the mark and its anti-fungal properties will prevent any infection over the burn.
