After aloe vera, honey is considered most effective to treat burns, as it is anti-inflammatory and antibacterial in nature. However, this also is to heal minor burns. All you need to do is, use a cotton swab, dip it in a teaspoon of honey and massage gently on your wound. This will help in reducing the pain and burning sensation.
If you can’t find anything at your home post getting burned from hot wax, you can rely on cold water. You can immediately run the wound under cold water for approximately 20 minutes. Post that, clean it very gently with mild soap. If it still hurt and feels painful then apply a cold compress to the area. Applying ice directly is not advisable, just give your skin a cooling effect, using cold water.
Not a natural remedy, but reliable and an effective one. Neosporin has been used in Indian households for the longest of time. It is an antibacterial product, available in both powder and ointment forms. When dealing with wax burns, it is best to go with the ointment. Take a little bit on your fingertip and cover the damaged skin. Make sure that your hands are sanitised (how to improve toilet hygiene) or use clean medical gauze.
Used for several purposes, coconut oil is also great for burns, as it is packed with vitamin E. The nutrient is great for healing purpose. The amazing properties present coconut oil would help lighten the mark and its anti-fungal properties will prevent any infection over the burn.
