Obesity is not a disease but a problem of our generation. Apart from some people who develop an obese body due to medical complications, mostly this condition occurs because we start ignoring our bodies. A bad lifestyle with poor eating habits and sleep hygiene plus leads of stress makes the body lethargic and more prone to store unhealthy fat. Fat can get deposited on any part of the body. To find out some simple remedies to get rid of this problem, Her Zindagi talked to Ayurvedic Expert Dr Durga Arod (RMO) of the Swami Parmanand Natyavikalaya Yoga and Research Center and here are some insights.

Make That Double Chin Flab Work Out

Exercising the facial muscles is the best way to get rid of that irritating double chin. This helps to stretch and tone your face, neck and jawline. To begin with, stand up and look straight. Now raise your chin up to look towards the ceiling. After a few seconds, return to your position. Repeat this action at least 15-20 times. In the second exercise, keep the spinal cord straight and move your head clockwise and anti-clockwise. Do this 5-10 times. In addition, take out the tongue completely and count up to ten or close the mouth properly and touch the palate above the tongue 5-7 times.

Reduce Overall Weight

If you are overweight then first try to reduce it. Because the weight you lose will decrease the fat on your face accordingly. For this, eat foods with low fat and carbohydrate and include exercises in your routine.

Chew Away The Fat

To get rid of double chin, you need to keep your facial muscles toned and chewing gum is very beneficial for keeping the muscles fit. But be careful to eat only sugar-free chewing gum. Chewing sugar-free chewing gum not only reduces double chin but keeps teeth and gums healthy too!

Maintain The Right Posture

Nowadays women have to sit in front of computers for hours at end. But due to their wrong posture, the problems of a double chin may occur. So improve your seating style. While sitting in front of the computer in the office, keep your posture right. Keep the spinal cord and neck straight and keep the head straight. With this, the problem of the double chin will be taken care of and you will prevent neck pain as well.

Massage The Double Chin Away

Massaging is also a good way to get rid of a double chin. Take a mixture of vitamin E, heat it on a light flame and massage the neck & chin well. Starting from the neck, massage with the light hands moving upward. Do this massage before bedtime.

Add Vitamin E to Diet

If you want to get rid of the problem of double chin, then have a diet rich in vitamin E. Include soybean, peanut, dairy products, beans, brown rice, apple, lemon etc. in your diet.

Massage With Milk

You may feel a bit awkward after reading this but you can also tighten your skin by massaging with milk. Yes, put a little milk on the chin and massage it for a few minutes. And wash the skin with light lukewarm water. This will not only remove the problem of your double chin but make your skin soft too.
