The dishwasher is a lifesaver for so many people but it is equally complicated to clean. But keeping it clean is very important as proper cleaning of the dishwasher ensures that there remains no odour, no debris and this leads to better cleaning of your dishes as the spray and soap get proper space without the obstruction of the leftover food particles, etc.

Not only that, but cleaning also removes the germ build that makes the dishwashing process unhygienic.  Therefore you must understand and keep cleaning the dishwasher regularly so that the process remains safe and healthy. But using expensive soaps and dish cleaner is not needed at all and hence you shouldn’t worry anymore.  Here is how you can clean your dishwasher with the help of vinegar.

Here Is All That You Need

  • Warm water
  • Distilled white vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Toothpick
  • Toothbrush
  • Microfiber cloth
  • Rubber gloves

Dismantle The Filter, Racks And Utensil Holders

Once you have gathered all the supplies that you need, then take out the racks, utensil holders, and the filter from the dishwasher and then keep them soaked in a mixture of warm water and distilled vinegar for at least 30 minutes, to cleanse them thoroughly and properly.

Check For Leftovers

Now clear out the dishwasher and make sure you are wearing your gloves. Wipe the sidewalls and spray arms of the dishwasher and then check the filter and dispenser and get rid of all the debris that is trapped between the small holes.

Use a toothpick or a toothbrush to clean between the holes and you are done with step two.

Vinegar Cleaning

Moving on, the next step is about cleaning your dishwasher with the vinegar. Just make sure to do one thing, fill a dishwasher-safe bowl with vinegar and place it on the bottom. After that, run the dishwasher in a hot water cycle this will ensure maximum cleansing and germ protection.

Baking Soda Cycles

After running one cycle with vinegar, it is time for you to run another cycle with baking soda. All you have to do is remove the bowl at the bottom of the dishwasher and sprinkle baking soda on the bottom of the dishwasher. The baking soda(beauty benefits of baking soda) will help in reducing any stains and will also remove the odour.

Cleaning The Door

Now it's time to clean the door of the dishwasher. So, grab a soap for mean for stainless steel or make one at home(how to make a DIY soap). Then take a small microfiber cloth and dip it in the soap solution, rub it against the dishwasher door and try removing all the dirt accumulated there. Then wring out the microfiber cloth and dip it in clean warm water and strike the door covering all areas again. A beautiful gleaming door would be the result. Also, wipe off the control panels and the handles with the damp cloth piece.
