Momos are one of the most loved street foods that everyone enjoys, from kids to the elderly. The soft and delicious dish, which originated in Tibet, made its  way to India many years ago and today rules here. There are a variety of momos available, each with its unique taste. Here are 3 easiest recipes for veg. momos which you'll absolutely love and enjoy. Prepare them at home and eat them with your family and loved ones.

How To Make Momos Dough?

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Water to knead

Method:

  • Knead together to make a stiff dough.
  • Let it rest for around 20 minutes.

1. Mix Veg Stuffing

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ¼ cup chopped carrot
  • ¼ cup chopped beans
  • 1 cup chopped cabbage
  • 1 tbsp chili paste
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Method:

  • Heat oil in a pan. Then add chopped garlic and ginger. Sauté till they turn slightly brown. After that, add the chopped onions. Stir.
  • Add carrots, beans and cabbage. Toss them. To avoid moisture and keep the veggies crunchy, keep the flame high.
  • After that, add salt and pepper to taste. Add chili paste, soya sauce and vinegar. Mix them well. Turn off the flame.
  • Mix 1 tbsp flour with the mixture and Saute. The maida will absorb any extra moisture and bind the mixture.

2. Soya Stuffing

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup soya granules
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ¼ cup chopped cabbage
  • 1 tbsp chili paste
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Method:

  • Soak soya granules for 10 minutes in boiling water. Drain and thoroughly rinse with fresh water. Remove any excess moisture by squeezing it out.
  • In a pan, heat the oil. Add chopped ginger and garlic.
  • Then, allow the garlic and ginger to turn golden.
  • Add the chopped onions and soya granules and sauté for 2-3 minutes on high heat.
  • Add soya sauce, vinegar, chili paste, salt & pepper to taste. Mix them well and turn the flame off.
  • To keep the filling from becoming runny, add 1 tablespoon of flour. This will bind the stuffing.

3. Paneer Stuffing

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1 tsp chopped ginger
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 tsp chopped capsicum
  • 1 cup grated paneer
  • 1/4 cup chopped cabbage
  • 1 tbsp chili paste
  • 1 tsp soya sauce
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste

Method:

  • In a pan, heat oil. Sauté chopped ginger and garlic till they turn golden.
  • Next, add chopped onions, capsicum, paneer, cabbage and stir for 1 minute on high heat.
  • Add soya sauce, vinegar, chili paste, salt and pepper. Mix well before turning off the heat.
  • To keep the filling from becoming runny, add 1 tablespoon of flour and mix.

The Final Step

  • Take the dough and knead it again for 2 minutes. The more you stretch the dough, the better.
  • Next, break the dough into marble sized balls.
  • With these balls, roll them as thin as you can.
  • Now, place a tablespoon of any of your prepared stuffing in the center, shape them and seal them together.
  • Slightly oil the momo and steam them over the steamer.

Serve your momos with your favourite chutney and enjoy the yummy treat.
