Himalayan Nyingmapa Tibetan Buddhist Monastery
One of the most famous monastery in India, Himalayan Nyingmapa Gompa is situated in Manali. It has rich culture and heritage attached to it, therefore, it is of high significance to the devotees. The most prominent feature of this place is the gigantic idol of Sakyamuni in a sitting or meditative pose. Dhakpo Shedrupling Monastery
The monastery was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in the year 2005. It is located in Kais village, Kullu Manali and is also known as Kais monastery. It is a must – visit place for everyone as it is a combination of elegant design with the serenity of mountains.
To enter the monastery, you have to climb approximately 50 stairs and leave your footwear outside. After you offer your prayers, you can relax in the monastery. The thing to look forward at this place is its architecture which is a blend of Indo – Tibetan style that dates back quite a few centuries.
The sacred place is situated on the left side of Beas river and is been dedicated to the Dalai Lama. It has a very big prayer hall with a huge Buddha statue which will surely help you in finding inner-peace. This place will enlighten you and for the same reason, many monks come to this monastery. These monks will also act as a guide for the tourists to help them understand the place better.
