Most of the Indian households now keep dishwashers to save their time and money on washing utensils two to three times a day. However, it is not just the utensils in the home that needs cleaning on a regular basis. There are other small and big objects that must be disinfected to keep diseases and infection at bay. A dishwasher is an amazing tool and if you don’t know, a multipurpose one as well. It is not just effective in washing up your cookware and dishes, but also several other things. Read on to know what are those items and how you can cleanse it in your dishwasher.
Kitchen Exhaust Filter
One of the dirtiest things in your kitchen has to be that exhaust filter that remains unhygienic with gunky oil build. People don’t clean it for months. Their focus only goes to that dirty filter around a festival. This shouldn’t be the case, especially if you have a dishwasher at home. Put in a good detergent and set the dishwasher at high temperature to cut through tough grease without much effort on your part.
Let’s admit it most of us don’t even consider changing that dish sponges for months. It turns dirty, greasy and in worst-case scenario smelly by using the same dish sponge on dishes again and again. Not only it is harmful to your health, but also very bad for utensil's quality. Other than replacing a sponge every one or two months, also consider removing bacteria and mould by using the heated dry setting.
Pet Dishes And Toys
Save time from cleaning and spend it with your beloved pet. You can very much clean your pet’s bowl and toys in the dishwasher, perhaps not with your regular dishes, but separately so that they can look sparkling and clean. However, an important thing to note is that you must check the label of toys and dishes to keep them safe.
Don’t leave them to be cleaned during the festive season as dish racks too get packed with mould and bacteria due to moisture and lack of sunlight. Just wiping won’t solve the purpose, a thorough cleaning is what those racks need. To get rid of grimy buildup, put them into the bottom rack of your dishwasher and run through a cycle.
They may look white and clean, but you also know the constant deposition of food items can become a hub for germs and bacteria. This will lead to insect infestation in your refrigerator, and getting rid of cockroaches and insecticides is the last thing you want to deal with. Just follow the same procedure as the dish racks, through them in and run through a dishwasher cycle.
Rubber mats are life-savers in the bathrooms or any slippery spots. However, they are tricky to clean and that’s why changing them seems to be a better option than cleaning them. Not anymore, because now we have a solution for you that will save you time and energy. Simply put the mats in your dishwasher every week and clean them up.
