Hair that is thick, long, and lustrous has always been regarded as a beauty asset. However, we are seeing a lot of hair damage today, mainly due to the usage of chemicals in styling, dyeing and colouring. Damaged hair is weak and they are prone to breaking off or falling out easily. It could also be rough and lack the shine. Hair is, in fact, a delicate fabric, so learn to treat it that way.

How To Achieve Strong Hair?

Strong and healthy hair is not difficult to achieve. What one needs is an understanding of the kind of treatment it deserves so that it can be protected and restore its beauty. When it comes to nutrition, the first thing to keep in mind is that the body must be in a state of good health. A good diet and adequate blood circulation are very important for healthy hair.

In terms of regular hair care, it also requires external nourishment. Each hair has a life cycle and grows in phases. When one hair reaches the end of its life cycle and falls out, a new hair grows in its place. Naturally, the replacement is dependent on a variety of elements such as age, hormonal fluctuations, and overall health.

Diet Plan For Stronger Hair

A good diet is extremely important for healthy hair growth, as the hair is actually fed by nutrients in our blood stream. Hair loss is caused by a variety of factors, one of which being nutritional deficiency, which is one of the most common causes. So, pay attention to your diet plan. Your diet should contain adequate vitamins, protein, and minerals such as iron and zinc. Vitamin B7, which is known as Biotin, is essential for hair growth. Fish, liver, eggs, whole grains, nuts & seeds, avocado, yoghurt, and cottage cheese are all good sources of it.

For healthy and strong hair growth, your daily diet should include fresh fruits, sprouts, raw salads, and green leafy vegetables. Proteins can be obtained from peas, beans, dals, lean meat, eggs, fish, paneer and curd. Every day, eat a small bowl of sprouts. It contains amino acids, which aid in the growth of healthy hair.  The hair is fed by the nutrients in the bloodstream. That is why eating a healthy diet is important.

Ask your doctor to prescribe you vitamin and mineral supplements. A healthy lifestyle, daily exercise, relaxation, nutritious diet, adequate sleep are requirements for healthy hair growth. Also, make sure to take your doctor’s advice before making changes in your diet if you have a medical condition like diabetes.

Apply Oil With A Light Massage

hair oil for strong hair

The application of oil followed by a light massage helps to promote blood circulation to the follicles. You can make your own hair oil by taking 10 to 15 grams of dry amla and 1 teaspoon fenugreek (methi) seeds. After that, grind both amla and methi seeds coarsely. Combine them with 100 mL coconut oil. In an airtight glass jar, mix all of the ingredients. Keep it in the sun daily for fifteen days. Shake in intervals to stir the ingredients. Then strain the oil through a clean muslin cloth and keep it in a bottle. This oil is good for all types of hair.

The frequency of shampoo should be according to your hair type. Generally speaking, wash the hair 3 or 4 times a week for oily hair and twice a week if you have dry hair. Use mild herbal shampoo and apply less of it. Now, thoroughly rinse the hair with water. Do not rub hair with a towel after washing it. Instead, allow the towel to soak all moisture by wrapping it around your head for a few minutes. Avoid brushing your wet hair. Comb your hair with a wide-toothed comb. Avoid using hair dryers on a daily basis and let your hair dry naturally as much as possible.

To prepare your own hair washing preparation, take 1 handful each of dried shikakai, reetha, and amla. Allow them to soak overnight in one liter of water. The next day, simmer the herbs with water on low fire, till water reduces to half. Allow to cool completely before straining through a clean cloth. Now use this liquid to wash your hair. Make small quantities of these  home-made hair cleansers at a time and keep them in the refrigerator for further use.
