Though greying of hair is a natural process but it is equally dreaded by people of all ages. Onion Hair Mask
To start the preparation of this mask, either grate an onion or blend it in a blender. Now strain the onion juice in a bowl. You can add a few drops of castor oil or almond oil to the onion juice, in order to give the mixture a proper consistency. Now apply it on your hair, especially the scalp and roots. Wait for 30 minutes and wash it off. The presence of catalase in onions prevents the growth of grey hair and helps in hair darkening.

Ghee Massage
Ghee is a wonder remedy which prevents the premature greying of hair. All you need is 100% pure desi cow ghee. Just warm it a little and massage it all over your scalp. Leave it on for 30-40 minutes and wash it off with shampoo. Cow ghee provides milk nutrients to your hair and restores volume and shine. It is also useful in preventing the growth of grey hair but make sure you use good quality desi ghee.
Drink Amla Juice
Amla is an excellent product when it comes to haircare. Drinking amla juice can help in strengthening of hair and it also keeps grey hair at bay. You must drink amla juice regularly in order to see effective results. Amla oil can also be applied on the scalp which will make your hair thicker and stronger.
Curry Leaves Hair Mask
Just grind a handful of curry leaves and make a paste. Now add 2-3 tablespoons of curd to the paste. Mix them together and apply it on your head. Cover the scalp and apply the paste on the full length of your hair. Curry leaves provide moisture to the scalp and removes dead skin. It contains nutrients like iodine, selenium, zinc and iron which can prevent premature greying of hair. You can also add indigo powder, henna or coffee to increase the effectiveness of the mask.

Torai Or Ridge Gourd Mask
Cut torai into 4-5 big pieces and boil it with a cup of coconut oil. Let it simmer till the ridge gourd turns black. Let it cool down and massage it all over your hair and scalp. You can store the remaining oil for later usage. Keep the mask on for 30-40 minutes and wash off with shampoo. Repeat the process twice a week to see effective results.
Eat Black Sesame Seeds
Consumption of sesame seeds can also help in reducing the growth of grey hair. You can safely consume one tablespoon of sesame seeds, 2-3 times a week for effective results. Black sesame seeds promote the production of melanin, which is a pigment responsible for dark hair colour.
Bhringraj Hair Dye
If you do not wish to opt for chemical ridden hair dyes, then you can prepare a natural one at home yourself. To prepare this Bhringraj hair dye, take a pan and put it on flame. Now add 1 teaspoon of Bhringraj and two tablespoons of coconut oil. Mix it lightly and take it off the flame. Make sure you don’t burn it or make it too hot. Rub the warm paste on your scalp. Leave it for one hour and later wash it off. You can safely apply this paste twice a week. The only drawback of homemade hair dyes is that they bleed with every wash. That’s why you need to re-apply them in every few days.
