Retinol is one of the most effective ingredients for fading dark spots. It is already known to improve skin texture and repair any damage caused by sun exposure when used on a regular basis. Retinol penetrates deep into the layers of the skin to treat dark spots that aren't even visible yet. After incorporating a retinol cream or serum into your skincare routine, your pores will appear refined and your acne will be under control. This will further help reducing dark spots.

2. Add Vitamin C To Your Beauty Routine

Vitamin C is extremely effective at fading dark spots. It is found naturally in many citrus fruits and is a popular star ingredient in many cosmetic lines. The reason for this is that Vitamin C is well-known for being an excellent de-pigmentation agent. You will notice a significant fading of dark spots and brighter-looking skin after using vitamin C-enriched products. This ingredient is also excellent for treating blemishes, making it an all-purpose treatment for acne-prone skin. Vitamin C enriched face serums, moisturisers and mists are easily available and you won't regret investing in them.

4. Try Chemical Peels

The expert further shared that chemical peels also can be used to treat dark spots, however, they should only be attempted by professionals. Chemical peels are essentially topical acids that are applied to the skin in order to remove the top layers of damaged skin, revealing brighter, blemish-free, youthful skin.

These peels are extremely effective in treating dark spots and results are usually instant. For chemical peels, you should always consult a professional to know which one would work best for your skin type.

Today, laser treatments to clear dark spots and treat uneven skin tone are also easily available. However, for the same, one must consult their dermatologist.
