Getting your eye makeup right is not so easy. It takes a lot of practice especially if you like trying different looks. The toughest is the eyeliner which can be crooked or too thick or thin during application. There are so many makeup looks out there today that it can be confusing as to which one would suit you the best. If you have hooded eyes like Deepika Padukone then I suggest that you take inspiration from her looks for starters. She never goes overboard and neither does she underplay her eye makeup. She accentuates one of her best features and how! So here are 5 eye makeup looks sported by the actress that can be taken inspiration from.
Brown Purple Smokey Eyes
Smokey eyes look amazing if done the right way and they do not necessarily have to be brown or just black or blue for that matter. You can always play with colours and bank on your complexion as undertones. A thin eyeliner and kajal application are a must to bring out the eyes. Use a purple eye shadow for the base and colour the hood with soft strokes using a dark brown number. Blending is the key here.
Kohl it out and spread with a smudger or use a black eye shadow on the hood and below the lower lash lines. Make a shape with hues of burgundy and oodles of mascara is what you need. This dramatic eye makeup goes with any outfit depending upon the occasion.
This is one classic eyeliner stroke which was made famous by our veteran actresses like Sharmila Tagore. Go for a thick eyeliner and make a bold stroke for a wing. This one may need some practice to get it even on both your eyes. Give a nude base to the lids and you are sorted. Do not forget to use mascara and sharpen your eyebrows.
All The Way Smokey
This eye makeup look by Deepika is heavy on black but has slight undertones of lilac shimmer. You can easily do it at home with the method of layering. First, go for a brown shade and apply it all over the lid. Then tap your brush in black and with a soft hand, sweep it across. Smudging and blending do the trick here. Your inner eye corners can be coloured with a shimmery hue of lilac.
This is a tried and tested look by me where I first outlined my hood with an eyeliner pencil and then coloured it in with a black eye crayon. I had to use three layers of mascara to sharpen them. Go for a nude lipstick as this is a heavy look indeed. Opt for simple accessories and let your eyes be the statement here. Make sure your eyeliner does not crumble when it dries up as that can irritate the eye.
Do try these looks out and let us know which one works for you the best.
