A table fan has become a rare sight in most modern homes but it surely is an integral part of many homes even to date. Table fans are quite portable and handy and work really well for focusing the air to a specific part of the room. But because they are usually in the vicinity of the ground and are generally taken to and fro from one place to another, is why they get dirty very soon too.
However, cleaning them is not a very big issue and can be done easily. You would only need a few tools to get the work done and then your table fan would as good as new. So, read on and find a step-by-step guide to cleaning your table fan.
Start By Dissembling The Fan
As we told you, you would need a few tools like a screwdriver, to begin with. Once you have your screwdriver ready, just disconnect the fan from any power source to avoid electrocution. Then unpin the brackets of the fan after removing the grid panel from the front. Slowly unscrew the screws that hold the back grid to the motor and keep the motor away. Now that your grid panels are detached from the fan you can clean them conveniently.
Cleaning The Blades And Panel
Cleaning the blades is a very easy step but you have to do it carefully. Start by dusting off the fan blades and grill panel using an old cotton cloth. Once done with that, place your blades and panels in the sink and clean them with a sponge dipped in a solution of soap and water covering both the back and front of the blades and the panels. If you still find dirt left between the grill then leave some soap over the grill panels and wash it with running water. Most grill panels are rust proof and come with a proper plastic coating. But it will be safe to wipe them thoroughly with a dry piece of cloth and leave them under the sun to let it all dry properly.
Clean Then Motor
While your blades and grill panels are drying out in the sun, you can clean the motor of the fan. If you have a car vacuum cleaner then clean the motor with it otherwise you can simply stick to using an old damp toothbrush to clean the body of the motor and then wiping off the liquid with a dry cloth. For better cleaning you can also open up the motor, and using a dry piece of cloth, you can clean the dust accumulated in the parts inside of it. But we would strictly suggest you to do so in expert supervision or else not.
Cleaning The Body
Finally, its turn to clean the body, which is perhaps the easiest part of all. Soak a piece of cloth or sponge in a soap water solution, wring a little, and rub over the body to remove any dust or dirt over it. Do the same with the wire while with tougher stains you can add a tablespoon of white vinegar to the solution and then clean the body.

Assembling The Parts
Now, that all the parts are clean and dry, it’s time for you to reassemble them. Take the screwdriver and pin the back grill panel to the motor, then the blade, and finally, fix the front panel in place and you will be done.
