Hanuman Jayanti is one of the most important Hindu festivals. The day is celebrated to commemorate the birth of Lord Hanuman. Hanuman Jayanti is celebrated on a full moon day during the Chaitra Month. This year, it is being celebrated on 27th April 2021.
This year too, due to the coronavirus outbreak and nationwide lockdown, the celebrations would be at home. We talked to astrologer Sonia Malik and asked her to tell us how we can celebrate the festival at home and seek the blessings of Lord Hanuman.
Hanuman Jayanti Significance
Lord Hanuman is Anjani Putra, he was born to Anjana who was the wife of Vanraja Kesari, the king of monkeys. She was once cursed by Muni Vishwamitra after she disturbed him while he was in dhyana. Lord Hanuman's mother was cursed that she will give birth to a monkey. Anjana prayed to Lord Shiva for son Lord Hanuman. It is believed that Lord Hanuman is an incarnation of Lord Shiva.
It is an important day and worshipping Lord Hanuman on this day helps you seek his blessings. Any person who worships Lord Hanuman with all heart gets the power to face any problems in their life.
Read Hanuman Chalisa
When you wake up in the morning, take a bath and then read Hanuman Chalisa. Hanuman Chalisa has 40 verses that were composed by Tulsidas who was a devotee of Lord Rama. It is believed that anyone who recites these 40 verses can get rid of evil spirits and get the blessings of Lord Hanuman.
You can also do a 'Sankalp Path' where you can recite Hanuman Chalisa for 11 times.
