From Stones In Meals To Pee, All The Things You Get Free On Air India Flights

It's raining 'disasters' in Air India and we are horrified.

One of the oldest and largest air service providers of India, Air India has been making headlines for all the wrong reasons lately. With the recent turn of events, it looks like Air India is only promising its travellers a Maha-Messed Up in-flight experience.

F̶a̶n̶t̶a̶s̶t̶i̶c̶ PEEtastic Flight

Not one but two urinating cases on an Air India flight have been reported, leaving us all disgusted. On November 26, an intoxicated man, now identified as Shankar Mishra, urinated on a female passenger, reportedly a senior citizen on a New York To Delhi business class Air India flight, AI 102.

Apparently, Mishra got off the plane as if nothing had happened on reaching the Delhi airport and the airlines didn't even look into the issue. Such behaviour is indeed disgraceful and unacceptable.

Reportedly, Air India has banned the accused, Shankar Mishra for 30 days following the female passenger's allegation. Further, an internal investigation into how the crew handled the situation is being planned by the airlines.

An FIR against Mishra was filed on January 4 by the woman, following which he was arrested from Bengaluru. During the interrogation, as per reports, Shankar Mishra told the police that he was sleepy and doesn't remember anything from the incident. As per a report by PTI mMetropolitan magistrate Komal Garg, Delhi's Patiala House Courts, slammed Mishra. She was quoted by PTI saying, “The alleged act of accused of relieving himself upon the complainant is utterly disgusting and repulsive. The alleged act in itself is sufficient to outrage the modesty of any woman. Egregious conduct of the accused has shocked the civic consciousness and needs to be deprecated.”

Ten days after the shocking incident, another account of a drunk male passenger urinating on a female passenger's blanket on Air India flight 142 has been reported. Apparently, the pilot reported the case to the Air Traffic Control (ATC) at the Indira Gandhi International Airport. Reportedly, the male passenger was allowed to leave only when he gave a written apology.

F̶l̶a̶v̶o̶u̶r̶s̶o̶m̶e̶ Stone-Some In-Flight Meal

Air India is one of the airline services that offer complimentary refreshments/meals to all the travellers irrespective of the flight duration and class. This 'free' service we assume was introduced to offer the flyers an enhanced in-flight experience which faileds too. Multiple flyers in the past have taken to social media and called out the TATA group airline for serving substandard food.

Recently, a passenger found a stone in the meal served on an Air India flight and shared a picture on Twitter. She captioned her post, "You don’t need resources and money to ensure stone-free food Air India (@airindiain). This is what I received in my food served in the flight AI 215 today. Crew member Ms. Jadon was informed. This kind of negligence is unacceptable. #airIndia."

Twitteratis Have The Most Hilarious Reactions To Air India Disasters

As soon as these disastrous stories from Air India broke, Twitteratis had their hilare game on. Here are some of our favourite reactions -

A user wrote, "Soon flights now should provide diapers 😂 as a complimentary to the passangers." Another one wrote, "Should be a matter of investigation that what AI serves enroute that passengers couldn't hold their pressure."

Though these Twitter reactions have left us all splits, we realise that none of it can be taken in a light-hearted manner. We wonder how long will it take for Air India to repair its image after such a grave damage.

Amid the outraging incidents, a video of a mid-air proposal on an Air India flight is going viral now. A man got down on his knees and proposed to his fiancee. In the video, passengers can be seen cheering the couple. Air India crew was seen assisting the man with the proposal while ensuring the passengers weren't disturbed.
