Make the most of raw mangoes this season by turning them into a delicious, homemade pickle. Though mango pickles are easily available in the markets during the summer season, there is something very special about homemade achaars or pickles.

This one is an easy, instant recipe, you don't have to wait for days to have this raw mango pickle ready.

How To Make Instant Raw Mango Pickle?

  • Begin with washing and peeling raw mangoes.
  • Slice raw mangoes into thick pieces and then cut them into uniform vertical stripes.
  • Spread salt all over the raw mango strips and mix well. Keep aside for 1 hour.
  • After 1 hour, wash with normal water and discard.
  • In another bowl, add the mango strips, turmeric powder, asafoetida, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, chilli powder, and mustard oil.
  • Combine all the ingredients well.
  • Your instant homemade raw mango pickle is ready.
  • This instant pickle can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

  • 2-3 Raw Mangoes
  • 1 Tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 Tsp Asafoetida
  • 2 Tbsp Fennel Seeds
  • 2 Tbsp Cumin Seeds
  • 2 Tbsp Chilli Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Salt
  • 3-4 Tbsp Mustard Oil


  • Step 1 :

    Cut raw mangoes into thin strips.

  • Step 2 :

    Sprinkle salt over the mango strips and keep for 1 hour.

  • Step 3 :

    Rinse with water.

  • Step 4 :

    In a bowl, add raw mango strips, turmeric powder, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, chilli powder, asafoetida.

  • Step 5 :

    Add in mustard oil and toss all the ingredients.

  • Step 6 :

    Store in a jar. This instant pickle can be refrigerated for upto 4 days.
