    You might have visited several zoos with tiger, deer, leopard, peacock, and whatnot. But have you ever visited a zoo solely meant for butterflies? Or a zoo which will let you experience swimming with the sharks? Well, there are several interesting zoos around the world, which will not only leave you amazed but will also leave you thrilled till the core. Here are a few "out of the box" zoos from all around the world which must be visited:  

    The Butterfly Zoo

    For all the butterfly lovers out there, Florida's Butterfly World is a must-visit place for you. Made especially to showcase different butterfly species, this zoo is one of its kind. The zoo is home to 20,000 live butterflies from 80 different species. Out of the 35 butterfly gardens and home present in the USA, this zoo is the biggest of all.  

    You can not only stroll through walkways full of butterflies but also sightsee hundreds of butterflies together in one place. Florida’s butterfly world opened in 1988 and to date holds the distinction of being the world’s largest butterfly zoo.

    The High-Altitude Zoo

    Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park situated at a height of 7,000 feet is the largest high-altitude zoo in India. It was established in 1958 as the Himalayan Zoological Park, which was later renamed in 1975 by the then Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. The zoo is dedicated to Padmaja Naidu, the former governor of West Bengal. 

    You can witness a large variety of animals here, such as Himalayan Tahr, Blue Sheep, Himalayan Monal, Grey Peacock Pheasant, Himalayan Salamander, Blood Pheasant and many more. The park is also making efforts to conserve Red Pandas, Snow Leopards and Tibetan Wolves.  

    Dubai Underwater Zoo 

    Everything about the underwater zoo in Dubai is here to surprise you. Located in The Dubai mall, Dubai Underwater Zoo houses over 33,000 aquatic animals. The aquarium contains a whopping amount of 10 million liters of water, all of which is made from the first to the third floor of The Dubai Mall.  

    You can walk through the shark tunnel, experience colourful shoals of fish swimming in all directions. You can swim with the sharks, do snorkeling and even do a guided tour in a boat while feeding the fishes. Home to over 140 species of marine life, Dubai underwater aquarium is a must-visit for tourists.

    The Biblical Zoo

    As the name suggests, this zoo features a collection of animals present in the Hebrew Bible. Also known as the Jerusalem Biblical Zoo, this unique zoo is present in Israel. Established in 1940, The Biblical zoo is home to approximately 2,000 animals. The zoo also looks after endangered species and conducts different breeding programs for the species to thrive. Their breeding program enabled the re-introduction of about 11 species of animals which were on the brink of extinction.  

    The zoo also features a variety of animals, such as penguins, lions, giraffes, flamingos, elephants, and many more. The zoo is well organised and is the perfect place to visit with your family.

    Zoo In A Rainforest

    Another interesting zoo which will increase your proximity with nature is Pana'ewa Rainforest Zoo & Gardens. Situated in Hawaii, this zoo is the only zoo situated in a rainforest in the USA. Built in a small area of about 12-acres, this zoo houses around 80 different species of animals.  

    Most special attraction of this zoo is a White Bengal Tiger named Namaste, who was presented to the zoo by the famous Las Vegas magician Dirk Arthur. 

    Some other famous residents of the zoo are Spike: the Giant Anteater, American Alligators: Lilo and Stitch, and two Bengal Tigers: a white tiger named Tzatziki, an orange tiger named Sriracha.
