When you reach a certain age, your skin starts to demand more care and attention. This usually happens when we cross the 30 age mark. Here, our skin starts to loosen up, get sensitive and becomes susceptible to breakouts and patches! 

As soon as we cross the 30 mark we start to take care of our body, bone health and what not! So, why do we leave our skin behind? After you enter your 30s, applying mere facewash is not going to suffice. The most tricky part is that you may not be able to see the difference just yet, however, this is when the skin is transitioning from youthful to old. If you do not take care of your skin in your 30s, your 40s and beyond are going to be quite traumatic for your skin! 

Keeping in mind your skincare, we spoke to a dermatologist and anti-ageing expert in Delhi, Dr. Deepali Bhardwaj. She shared with us certain skincare tips for women who cross the 30 benchmarks!

What Dr. Deepali Has To Say

Dr. Deepali told us that post-30s, our body starts to loosen up and our skin tissues start to become loose. Irrespective of whether we have been married/pregnant or not, this is inevitable. “Essential fatty acids become deficient in the body” says doctor Deepali which leads to dry, loose and saggy skin. 

To battle this, here are a few precautions and cures as suggested by the expert!

Using A Good Sunscreen

In order to prevent ageing, the doctor suggests we wear sunscreen. She recommends SPF 26 +. It will help you prevent pigmentation, sunspots, wrinkles and saggy skin. This is why it is recommended for you all to pick a sunscreen that works best for you and stick to it no matter what. Do not get lazy, apply the cream 20-30 minutes before sun exposure and you are good to go! 

Moisturise

Apart from applying sunscreen, it is also important to apply a good quality moisturiser to your skin. “Even if you feel like you have acne-prone and oily skin, use a moisturiser that is for oily skin” says Dr. Deepali. She strongly recommends the use of a good moisturiser post 30. To add to that, she also says, “whatever one applies at night is like food for the skin”, which is why she suggests that we pick something that offers deep nourishment to the skin. 

Foods And Liquids

Along with the external care using creams and lotions, the doctor also recommends an intake of 4-5 liters of water. “Avoid drinks that dehydrate us, like Pepsi, tea, coffee, alcohol” adds Dr. Deepali. With respect to food, she suggests we have food that includes leafy vegetables and dry fruits. Apart from this, she also recommends the inclusion of essential fatty acids or a supplement of omega-369 on a daily basis.

Do Yoga

Doctor Deepali also stresses upon yoga and behavioral therapy. “People who take more stress have more wrinkles and allergies also develop faster”. This is why she suggests that we take good care of ourselves and love ourselves way more than we did in the last few decades, because post 30, your skin needs love and attention!
