If you have dry skin, lack sebum, hydration then look no further as this skincare regime is for you! We know very well how pristine and spotless a skin the Korean women have and if in case you haven't then please google, they are inspiration 101! They have a regime that they follow which is no joke and can be tweaked but as of now let's stick to the basics.
Step 1: Oil Cleanser
Use a double cleansing method as it breaks down all the gunk from makeup, the SPF, pollution and whatnot. So start with an oil-based cleanser and then use a foaming cleanser. An oil-based cleanser does not make your skin oily as water attracts water, oil attracts oil. Use it on dry hands and a dry face and directly rub it on your makeup. Massage it in slowly and then rinse it clean. So to explain it further, an oil-based cleanser is actually a gel that melts onto the skin nicely and cleanses off the makeup, hydrating it at the same time. (Use this at night, skip this step in the morning).
Next, bring in a foaming cleanser.
Step 2: Foaming Cleanser
Using a foaming cleanser in the morning is actually very important. Why? A foaming cleanser cleanses your skin of any impurities from overnight. So, when we sleep our skin produces oil. Those oils get cleansed with a foaming cleanser which is super soft on the skin. Just use a coin size on your hands and massage your wet skin with it but in a circular motion. Then rinse it all off. Step 3: Exfoliator (1-3 times per week)
Exfoliate your skin twice or thrice a week with a mild scrub. What you use on your body does not go on your face is the first rule you need to remember. It gets rids of the dead skin sitting in your pores and surface. Do this in the morning. Buy Lotus Herbals Apriscrub Fresh Apricot Scrub, at a discounted price of Rs 207 here.
Step 4: Toner
Next, you tone your skin. A toner basically balances the skin's pH and removes excess dead skin cells. Just pour some on a cotton pad and sweep it all over your face. Buy Plum Green Tea Alcohol-Free Toner, 200ml for Rs 273, here.
Step 5: Essence
This step is probably too new to you, unknown for most. An essence is basically a watery serum which hydrates your skin and accepts products in a more effective manner. How to use? Just pour some on your hand, like literally 5-10 drops and pat it all over your face.
Step 6: Sheet Mask (twice a week)
A popular trend in our country now, sheet masks are amazing for tired and dehydrated skin. Available in different variants, these sheets provide deep relief for different skin concerns. You can use it for wrinkles, skin brightness, breakouts, hydration and more. However, there is one key point you should not forget. Do not rinse it off once done and do not throw away the left liquid. Keep it on for max 30 mins. Buy The Face Shop Unisex Glowing Masksheet Combo (Pack of 5) at a discounted price of Rs 350, here.
Step 7: Serums
Now it’s personal. Here you can also layer your serums or just use the one which is targeted towards your skin concern. I use face oil for dry skin and that too just at night. In the morning I prefer a face lotion with SPF in it. Buy Plum Grape Seed & Sea Buckthorn Glow-Restore Face Oils Blend, 30ml at a discounted price of Rs 503, here.
Step 8: Eye Cream
Often overlooked, many forget the eyes. They too need hydration! Do not skip this step. The skin under our eyes is very thin which means they are more prone to dehydration. Hence comes in the eye cream. It prevents wrinkles, dark circles or dehydration.
Step 9: Moisturiser
Almost over. Once you are done with it all, use a moisturiser. Do not forget this step, please. And do not forget your neck.
Step 10: Sunscreen
Look for a sunscreen that suits you and do not step out of your house, sun or no sun, without sunscreen on your face, neck, and body! This is a crime to your skin if you forget. This is what ages your skin ladies!
