Alum is found in many minerals and you can buy it in shops easily as it is used for several purposes. Like here we will talk about using alum as a hair colouring agent. It can be used for making your white hair turn black and it can also help in hair removal but using the right combination of different ingredients. So let's get on with it without wasting more time. 

Alum As Hair Colour

To colour your hair black, make alum powder by grinding and then in a bowl, add some rose water in it and mix well with the powder to make a paste. Apply this paste on your hair and let it stay it dries up. Now, wash it with warm water. Do this regularly, every alternate day for 15 days and your hair will turn black completely.


Not just for colouring the hair black, alum is used for shaving by many barbers as well. It helps in control bleeding when there are accidental minor cuts.  

Alum For Hair Removal

Alum powder is excellent for soothing when you have your hair removed. How to use it?


  • 1 tbsp alum powder
  • 2 tbsp of rosewater

How to make it work

Just mix the two to make a paste and after removing your hair via waxing on your body be it using cold or hot wax, apply this mixture over the hair removal areas.

Leave it on for 10 minutes and then wash off with lukewarm water.  

Why this works:

Alum powder soothes the burning skin and brings relief. It also helps in diminishing hair growth if you use this for a long time.

  • 4 gms Alum powder
  • 500 ml water  

Mix the Alum powder in water and then apply it on your scalp.

Let it be for half an hour and then rinse it off with an organic shampoo. 

Do this every day and you will notice after a few days that the lice are completely gone.
