The first edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) cricket was flagged off this year on March 4. The first-ever event of women’s premier league was held at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium with a huge star evening. It saw Bollywood stars like Kiara Advani, Kriti Sanon and pop musician AP Dhillon perform their hits to flag off the series. This edition of the Women’s Premier League will see closure on March 26 at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai’s Churchgate neighbourhood. The first season of the WPL tournament has a total of five teams contesting for the title which includes the Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Giants, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore and UP Warriorz.
