This heartwarming program, designed to provide comfort and companionship to passengers, was put on hold during the COVID-19 pandemic but has now returned to help travellers navigate the stresses of modern air travel.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) has relaunched its ‘Pawfect’ initiative, which first started in 2019. This heartwarming program features nine specially trained therapy dogs, designed to bring comfort and make the airport a more welcoming place for travellers.

Sharing a cute video on Twitter (X), Mumbai Airport wrote, “#MumbaiAirport is thrilled to announce the return of its wildly popular ‘Pawfect’ initiative. Ready to melt the travel stress away and turn the airport experience into a fun-filled adventure.”
An airport spokesperson shared in a press statement that, “At Mumbai International Airport, we take pride in ensuring that every passenger is taken care of. Travelling and taking a flight can be hectic and challenging for many, which is why we continuously seek innovative ways to enhance the passenger experience. Our Pawfect initiative, which was very popular before the Pandemic, not only helps to reduce travel-related anxiety but also brings a sense of joy and comfort to our passengers. These trained canine companions are experts in sensing and responding to moods, offering unconditional love and comfort like no other. Engaging with these furry friends offers a soothing respite, allowing passengers to find their travel anxiety melting away.”

The nine adorable therapy dogs featuring breeds like a Golden Retriever, Maltese, Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, Labrador, and a rescued Husky will be greeting travellers at Terminal 2. You'll find them in the departure areas, including domestic Level 3 and the post-immigration sections, from Friday to Sunday, between 3:00 PM and 1:00 PM.
