Movies & Shows Releasing In May That We're Eager To Watch

Several excellent movies and series are releasing this month that we can't wait to watch.

This year the summers are unbearably hot, making it impossible to make any plans outside. However, with multiple movies and shows coming out this month, you don't need to make any other arrangements. This month is all about making a lot of popcorn because there are so many wonderful movies and shows coming out this month that you'll want to binge watch them all. So get comfortable in front of your screens because it's binge watching time!

Take a look at various exciting shows and series releasing this month, as well as where they'll be released, when they'll be released, and everything else you need to know.

 

1 Doctor Strange: Multiverse Of Madness (6 May)

Releasing on: Theater

One of the most highly awaited Marvel movies is about to hit theaters tomorrow, and no Marvel fan can wait to see it. The movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen. 

In the trailer they said "Things just got out of hand" and this has heightened the excitement for all the fans. Its trailer has already sparked a lot of curiosity and hype, and we can’t wait for its release.

10 Bhool Bhulaiya 2 (20 May)

Releasing on: Theater

Starring Kartik Aaryan, Tabu, Kiara Advani and Rajpal Yadav, the movie is set to hit theatres on May 20. The film has been receiving mixed reviews looking at it's trailer, so we're looking forward to seeing how the movie will turn out. Will it be as good as the previous part or will it be a letdown? Well, we'll find out later this month.

2 Jayeshbhai Jordaar (13 May)

Releasing on: Theater

Starring Ranveer Singh, Boman Irani, Shalini Pandey, Ratna Pathak Shah in lead roles, Jayeshbhai Jordaar is a comedy-drama film with a strong social message. 

The trailer of Jayeshbhai Jordaar showed Ranveer Singh as Jayeshbhai Jordaar, a man determined to save his girl child in a place where men call all the shots. Jayesh's family attempts to have the girl child aborted several times. But despite the threats given by the troubled society, Jayesh remains committed to his promise to raise a daughter.

The plot, combined with the film's hilarious Gujarati dialogues, creates a mixed bag of emotions, and we can't wait to see it on the big screen.

3 Thar (6 May)

Releasing on: Netflix

Thar movie is directed by Raj Singh Chaudhary and stars Anil Kapoor, his son Harsh Varrdhan Kapoor and Fatima Sana Shaikh in lead roles. It is a vengeance thriller set in the 1980s in the Thar desert.

The film's trailer showed a strange mystery that everyone is fighting, creating a lot of suspense. We can't wait to find out what it's all about.

4 Home Shanti (6 May)

Releasing on: Disney+Hotstar

Home Shanti is a Hotstar Special web series, featuring Manoj Pahwa and Supriya Pathak as a Dehradun-based middle-class couple with two children who desire to build their dream home. The series goes on to find out that there's nothing shanti (peaceful) about building a dream home.

Several challenges await them as they begin construction on their new home, as well as several amusing incidents, making their struggle to build a home appear real. This family drama appears to be very heartfelt and fun to watch with family.

5 Panchayat Season 2 (20 May)

Releasing on: Prime Video

The release date for Panchayat Season 2 was recently announced, and we are too excited to watch it. 

Directed by Deepak Kumar Mishra, it is a light-hearted series, starring Jitendra Kumar, Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta

Continuing from the successful first season, Panchayat 2 will dive more into the relationship between Abhishek, Manju Devi, and Pradhan pati as he settles into Phulera, and we can't wait to watch this journey.

6 Escaype Live (20 May)

Releasing on: Disney+Hotstar

Escaype Live, a new web series from Disney+ Hotstar, follows the lives of numerous people who are involved with Escaype Live, a video-streaming social media app. The show follows six app users as they cross every boundary and limit in the hopes of winning a grand prize of Rs. 3 crore offered by the app's makers.

The show's unique and thrilling concept has piqued the curiosity of fans. With Jaaved Jaaferi at the centre of it all makes it even more interesting.

7 Stranger Things Season 4 (27 May)

Releasing on: Netflix

Stranger Things is coming back with Season 4, and the trailer makes it appear even more interesting.  Stranger Things Season 4 promises to mix things up, with glimpses of the story taking place in various locations.

The kids have all grown up since we last saw them three years ago, and their dreams have become even more terrifying. They try to be normal and finish their schooling, but their past catches up with them, and they clearly cannot go on like that. This season seems very interesting, making its release much awaited.  

8 Modern Love Mumbai (13 May)

Releasing on: Prime Video

Modern Love Mumbai, the first of three Indian adaptations of the widely praised international series, will premiere this month on May 13. The announcement of this show was such a surprise that even we didn't know we needed it.

Produced by Pritish Nandy Communications, the new Amazon Original series will feature six heart-warming stories about “discovering and exploring love in all its shades and emotions”. Set in the heart of Mumbai, with a wonderful cast the show is looking beautiful and we can't wait to watch it. I hope this series will be as good as we are expecting it to be.

9 Obi-Wan Kenobi (27 May)

Releasing on: Disney+Hotstar

Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Star Wars character, gets his own show set ten years after the events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith (2005).

The plot revolves around the consequences of his biggest defeat, as well as his watching over Luke Skywalker on Tatooine. We're very excited for this big release.
