Amidst a spike in Covid-19 cases in several parts of the country, the Haryana government has issued fresh guidelines. It has asked all health facilities to track the travel history of a suspected case with a history of recent traveling to a country or area where the virus has been reported.
India has recorded a single-day rise of 2,151 new coronavirus cases on March 29, 2023, the highest in five months. Among which, 91 cases of Covid were recorded in Haryana, 57 of which came from Gurugram alone, according to a bulletin from the Haryana health department. There were 307 active cases overall in the state. On March 29, the state recorded 391 active covid patients taking the total to 10,57,419 positive cases till date.
In continuation of the previous regulation established pursuant to a government order on March 11, 2020, the Haryana Epidemic Disease, COVID-19 Regulation, 2020 has been extended through March 31, 2024, as per a state health department announcement dated March 28, 2023.

According to the notification, the government has issued new regulations that state that all medical facilities, including private ones, are required to keep track of a patient's travel history when evaluating such cases to determine whether the person has visited any regions where Covid has been reported.
The health department has fixed the per day upper cap of Covid-19 treatment as well as testing charges in all private hospitals through an order issued on April 25, 2020. The health department further stated that "In addition, the history of coming in contact with a suspected or confirmed case of COVID-19 shall be recorded and information of all such cases should be given to the office of the Civil Surgeon of the district immediately."
As per the guidelines, all Covid-19 samples will be collected following the rules of the Centre and the same will be sent to the laboratories which are designated by the state government or Union government.
“Any person with a travel history to a country where COVID-19 has been reported, must comply with the latest Covid guidelines/directions of the Centre," it said.
According to the regulations, district disaster management committees led by deputy commissioners are authorised to create strategies for Covid containment measures in their respective districts.

The letter stated that most other regulations that were published pursuant to an earlier directive in March 2020 would not alter.
