A 16-year-old girl was brutally stabbed multiple times in Northwest Delhi's Shahbad Dairy recently by a 20-year-old fridge and AC repairing mechanic. The whole incident was recorded on CCTV and now the chilling video is going viral all over social media.
The accused, Sahil on being interrogated shared that he was in a relationship with the victim (Sakshi) for almost a year. A day before Sakshi was killed, the two had a big fight and stopped talking to each other. Sakshi wanted to completely end her relationship with Sahil. However, Sahil kept approaching her and wanted to reunite.
Reportedly, the minor girl was going to attend a birthday party when Sahil stopped her in the middle of the road at night and committed the crime in a fit of rage. That isn't all. There are more disturbing elements associated with this heinous crime.
No Intervention By Public
While the accused was brutally stabbing the minor, people were walking by and none of them came forth to intervene and save the victim. The incident has once again highlighted the 'bystander effect', a term coined back in 1964 when 38 eyewitnesses of a crime didn't intervene despite the victim's pleas. The inaction of the eyewitnesses in the 16-year-old's murder has led to public outrage but we wonder what led to their apathy.
Beginning Of The Political Blame Game
After the gruesome incident, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal tweeted, "दिल्ली में खुलेआम एक नाबालिग बच्ची की बेरहमी से हत्या कर दी जाती है। ये बेहद दुखद और दुर्भाग्यपूर्ण है। अपराधी बेख़ौफ़ हो गए हैं, पुलिस का कोई डर ही नहीं है।
LG साहब, क़ानून व्यवस्था आपकी ज़िम्मेदारी है, कुछ कीजिए। दिल्ली के लोगों की सुरक्षा सबसे महत्वपूर्ण है।" (A minor girl is brutally murdered openly in Delhi. This is very sad and unfortunate. The criminals have become fearless, there is no fear of the police. LG sir, law and order is your responsibility, do something. The safety of the people of Delhi is of paramount importance.)

As soon as the CM tweeted, his post was flooded with questions from netizens asking about his responsibilities towards the citizens of the national capital.
On the other hand, Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva stated that the killing of the minor girl was a case of love jihad and accused AAP of portraying it as a regular murder case. Amidst the finger-pointing among political leaders, unfortunately, none spoke of criminal action.

Autopsy Report States Girl's Skull Was Ruptured
If the preliminary findings from the autopsy are to be believed, the minor girl's skull was ruptured after she was attacked by the accused with a stone slab. In the murder video going viral on the net, the accused can be seen kicking the victim many times after stabbing her relentlessly. The 20-year-old here crossing all limits of humanity is proof that there is no fear of the law among criminals and there seems no silver lining.

Another Brutal Murder Case
Sakshi's murder case has sent shockwaves across the country but unfortunately, this isn't the first time we have come across a gruesome killing. The case comes a few months after the terrifying Shraddha Walkar murder case. Delhi overall has been witnessing a rise in murder cases and it seems unstoppable.
