Easy And Quick Recipe For Homemade Yaksik
Yaksik is a famous Korean traditional dessert that can win your heart in one bite.
First, prepare the seasoning sauce by mixing 1/3 cup dark brown sugar, one tablespoon of soy sauce, two tablespoons of honey, two tablespoons of sesame oil, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon powder, and 1/8 teaspoon of fine sea salt together in a bowl and set it aside. Then, soak the sweet rice and thoroughly rinse it under cold running water until the water runs clear. Drain the rice by allowing it to sit in the sieve for 10 to 20 minutes. Add them to two cups of water and the seasoning sauce in a rice cooker or an instant pot, and mix them well together. Sprinkle all your dried fruits and nuts on top and stir them together to ensure that they are evenly distributed. Let it cook on medium heat for approximately 20 minutes. Transfer the cooked rice into a tray mould or a medium-sized square or rectangular container, and let it cool. Flip the set of moulded rice onto a cutting board and garnish with some more nuts and dried fruits. Slice the Yaksik as per your preference and serve with love! You can also store it in the refrigerator for a few days or freeze it for up to a few months.
