This refreshing drink was popularised among the people of Kozhikode in North Kerala by a street vendor called Shaji. Better known as the Father of Kulukki Sharbath, Shaji’s Sarbath shop is trendy amongst the locals.

- Start by juicing one whole lemon. You can use a juicer or your hands.
- Take a tall glass and pour the lemon juice.
- Next, add two whole green chillies.
- Add around a cup of crushed ice to the glass.
- Take three tablespoons of soaked sabza or basil seeds and add them to the glass.
- Next, put eight to ten mint leaves in the glass.
- For a hint of sweetness, add two tablespoons of sugar syrup.
- Lastly, add enough water to the mixture as per your preference.
- Shake the Kulukki Sarbath well till everything is mixed.
- Cut one green chilli from the middle and garnish the glass with it.
