Then, bits of this mixture are formed into Milk (Doodh) peda, which is a spherical or circular shape.

How To Make Milk Peda:

1. First, pour the ghee and milk into a non-stick pan. Add the milk powder and stir well to create a smooth consistency after the milk has warmed up. Until it thickens and gets sticky, start heating over a medium flame for 10 minutes or more.

2. Then add ½ tbsp ghee. Use the spatula to remove the sides. Cook while stirring constantly until it thickens and forms a kind of solid mass for 10-20 minutes. It will also start to come out of the pan at this point.

3. Put it in a mixing bowl and leave it for a few minutes to cool down.

4. Add the powdered sugar and cardamom powder when it reaches a normal temperature. Now mix it thoroughly.

5. Roll the dough into balls after dividing it into 8 equal pieces. Slice a pistachio, then flatten and tuck it.

6. Completely cool the milk pedas, then keep them at room temperature for a day.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 5-6 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1-2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 5-6 tbsp powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp chopped almonds or pistachio

  • Step 1 :

    In a heavy-bottomed pan, add the milk and bring it to a boil. Stir occasionally to prevent the milk from scorching at the bottom.

  • Step 2 :

    Reduce the heat and let the milk simmer until it reduces to half its quantity.

  • Step 3 :

    Add the sugar and cardamom powder to the pan and stir well.

  • Step 4 :

    Continue to stir the mixture and add the ghee and mix it well. This will give the milk peda a rich flavour and smooth texture.

  • Step 5 :

    Add the milk powder to the mixture and stir it well. Keep stirring the mixture on low heat until it starts leaving the sides of the pan and leaving a solid form of it.

  • Step 6 :

    Turn off the heat and let it cool down. Once the mixture is cool enough to handle, start making small balls by rolling the mixture in your palms.

  • Step 7 :

    Flatten the balls slightly and decorate them with chopped almonds or pistachios. And your Milk Pedas are ready.
