Papdi Chaat is one of the traditionally prepared street foods in India. This cuisine boasts a blend of different flavours from tangy to sweet and sour to spicy. It uses crisp dough wafers known as papdi along with boiled potatoes, chickpeas, curd, tamarind chutney, and masala. Whether you are hosting a party at home or craving something delicious, papdi chaat is an excellent cuisine to try.
How To Make Papdi Chaat At Home?
Here’s a step-by-step recipe to make Papdi Chaat at home:
Step 1: Boil 5-6 potatoes and soaked chickpeas to prepare the filling. Let it cool for a while.
Step 2: Now peel and mash potatoes and chickpeas in a bowl.
Step 3: Meanwhile, chop onions and tomatoes and keep them aside. Additionally, peel pomegranate seeds and keep them separately.
Step 4: Take a large serving plate enough to accommodate 10-12 papdi.
Step 5: Top it with one to two tablespoons of potatoes-chickpea mixture, and chopped onion.
Step 6: Now drizzle three tablespoons of whisked curd over the papdi.
Step 7: Further add two tablespoons of tamarind chutney and green chutney.
Step 8: Sprinkle chaat masala, cumin powder, chilli powder, and salt as per taste.
Step 9: Now again add one tablespoon of chopped tomato and onion.
Step 10: Again add one tablespoon of curd, tamarind and green chutney.
Step 11: Lastly garnish the papdi chaat with one tablespoon of sev, chopped coriander leaves, and pomegranate seeds. Your papdi chaat is ready to be served.
