How To Make Chana Dal Halwa Recipe:
1. Soak chana dal for 3-4 hours. After thoroughly draining the water, move it to the mixer. Without using any water, coarsely ground.
2. Put some ghee in a pan and add the ground chana dal. Mix it well to avoid any lumps.
3. Heat the ground chana dal until it starts to crumble. It will smell sweet and turn golden.
4. Add a cup of water and milk now, and thoroughly mix. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium heat for a further two to three minutes, or until the mixture thickens.
5. Mix well to avoid lumps.
6. Continue cooking in medium flame or low flame until it absorbs all water and milk and gets cooked.
7. Add sugar, cardamom powder, and saffron and stir well. The sugar will melt and mix with the chana dal.
8. When the halwa starts leaving the sides, garnish it with some chopped nuts.
