How To Make It

  • First, marinate the chicken and leave it for a few hours if you can but the minimum time must be 30 minutes.
  • Make the masala for gravy with sauteed onions and tomato puree.

  • 1 Kg Chicken Pieces
  • 2 Onions
  • 3 Tsp Ginger Paste
  • 4 Tsp Garlic Paste
  • Red Chilli Powder As Per Taste
  • Ghee As Per Choice
  • 2 Tomatoes
  • 200 Ml Beaten Curd
  • 1 Tbsp Haldi
  • 1 Tbsp Dhania Powder
  • 1 Tbsp Cumin Powder
  • 3 Tbsp Cream
  • Handful Of Coriander Leaves
  • 1 Tbsp Kasoori Methi
  • Green Chillies As Per Taste
  • A Few Mint Leaves
  • Salt As Per Taste.


Step 1
Make your own garam masala with mace, cinnamon, cloves, black cardamom powder and green cardamom powder. Or use a premix.
Step 2
Now, begin by marinating your chicken pieces with salt, red chilli powder, garlic paste and ginger paste.

Chop the onions into large pieces.
Step 4
Blend the tomatoes to make a fine fresh puree.
Step 5
In a heated pan with ghee, saute the ginger garlic paste.
Step 6
Add the onions to it once the paste is brown and saute until the onion turns golden.
Step 7
Fold in the puree and salt.
Step 8
Meanwhile, in a bowl, mix together some curd, red chilli powder and haldi and then add it to the puree and cook for a few minutes.
Step 9
As the last cooking step, add cumin powder, dhania powder and the marinated chicken. Then add the onion, the garam masala and water.
Step 10
Cook for 10 minutes on low heat just to bring all the flavours together and then season the dish with a tadka of kasoori methi, pudina, green chillies, coriander and if you want to make it rich, top it off with some fresh cream.

Add and mix with the dish and serve hot with roti or rice.
