Housefull 5 vs Thug Life Box Office Collection

Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life, directed by Mani Ratnam and produced by Raaj Kamal Films International in association with Madras Talkies, showed early promise but failed to maintain momentum. As per Sacnilk, it earned ₹15.5 crore on its opening Thursday, largely driven by Tamil audiences. However, the film’s second-day earnings dropped sharply by 53.87% to ₹7.15 crore. Saturday brought in ₹7.75 crore, followed by ₹6.5 crore on Sunday. Monday saw another big dip, with collections down to ₹3.62 crore. No official number was reported for Tuesday, with the six-day total standing at ₹40.52 crore, according to Sacnilk.

Housefull 5 and Thug Life Cast

Housefull 5 brings back the popular franchise with a massive ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh, Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, and more. The mix of slapstick humour, multi-starrer appeal, and a family-friendly tone contributed to its wide reach.

In contrast, Thug Life features an equally powerful cast, Kamal Haasan, Trisha Krishnan, TR Silambarasan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and others, but its darker narrative and gangster theme may have limited its appeal.

As of now, Housefull 5 holds a strong lead in the box office race. Its consistent daily earnings and early crossing of the ₹100 crore mark position it as a summer blockbuster. Thug Life still has the potential to recover, but with the current pace, it faces an uphill task.
