Just a few days back we had a genius Swami Krushnaswarup Dasji who claimed that “A menstruating woman who cooks food for her husband will certainly be reborn as a ‘kutri’ (bitch).” This ofcourse called for a lot of backlashes, ridiculing, anger in not just women but men as well. Back to the situation that was brought to light by media houses that 68 students of Shri Sahjanand Girls’ Institute (SSGI) in Bhuj were reportedly asked to prove that they are not menstruating after the hostel warden complained that two girls on their period had entered the kitchen. This encouraged an NGO in Delhi to cook a period feast, a slap on the "Swamy".
This incident of girls being denied entry brought to light the fact that this school with such beliefes is actually being run by none other thanSwami Krushnaswarup Dasji!
The Times of India reported that to end the menstrual stigma, this myth that has been doing the rounds in many living amongst us, and sadly from the educated lot as well, that a Delhi-based NGO named ‘Sachhi Saheli’ organised a ‘Periode Feast’ or ‘Mahavari Mahabhoj’ on February 23 where they had 28 women who were menstruating, cook and serve food to over 300 attendees and also the Deputy CM.

NDTV quoted a gynecologist and founder of the NGO Dr. Surbhi Singh saying, “It is a lunch event to uphold women’s menstrual dignity. It is a statement against the dogmatic traditions related to menstruation and a symbolic protest against the negativity propagated by the priest from the Swaminarayan Bhuj Mandir in Gujarat.”
“I am a proud menstruating woman” a was the message printed on all the white aprons. A street play was also performed addressing the weird myths and superstitions around menstruation.माहवारी महाभोज period feast an initiative to celebrate women menstural dignity is a tight slap on those who think this to be a curse to womanhood. special thanks to @msisodia Sir & Team for being the guest of honour.Great job done by Dr. @drsurbhisingh22 for raising voice . pic.twitter.com/pnDYMVjTQJ

When the Swamy came out with this claim of his, many pet owners went sarcastic and made fun by sharing photographs of their female dogs (happy kutris) saying that they are reincarnations of ‘disgraced’ or ‘fallen’ women. There were many tweets that took his case and here are a few that we thought of sharing with you.

Regressive, period-shaming, misogynist bigot in #Gujarat (‘spiritual leader’) can apparently divine the previous lives of oxen and bitches.
