Moringa, which comes from the oleifera plant, is also known as the miracle plant and for good reasons! It is highly revered for its amazing health benefits which range from wound healing, managing blood glucose, lowering blood pressure, boosting immunity and more. It incorporates moringa in your daily diet, consuming it as a healthy and delicious paratha is the best choice. Here’s an easy recipe to make moringa paratha using whole wheat flour and Indian spices.
Moringa Paratha Ingredients
- 3 cups moringa power leaves (drumstick leaves)
- 4 cups of flour of your choice ()multigrain, jowar, whole wheat)
- 1 tbsp ginger (finely chopped)
- 1 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/2 tbsp chilli powder
- 1 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
- salt as per taste
- oil for cooking
Moringa Paratha Recipe
- Collect all the moringa leaves after plucking them from the stem. Properly wash and allow them to dry followed by finely chopping them.
- Take a bowl, add flour of your choice, spices, and chopped moringa leaves. Add water and make a soft dough. Let it rest for about 15 minutes.
- Divide the dough into equal-sized balls. Sprinkle some flour on the rolling board, take a dough ball and roll it into a medium-sized round disc.
- Place a tawa on the gas and let it heat. Place the rolled paratha on it and let it cook. Flip and put some oil or ghee on the paratha and let it cool. Flip again and spread some ghee. Let us cook from both sides until you see small bubbles on it. Once you see brown spots on both sides of the paratha, turn off the heat.
- Repeat the same process for other dough balls. Serve this healthy and delicious paratha with curd or chutney.
