The majestic splendour of the Mughal Gardens is something that should be witnessed by every Delhiite. But the allure of the place is such that every year all kinds of tourists visit it to view the natural beauty on display. What To See?
Mughal Gardens is basically famous for the huge variety of roses grown here. Around 159 varieties of rose are grown having interesting names such as Adora, Mrinalini, Taj Mahal, Eiffel Tower, Modern Art, Scentimental, Oklahoma (or black rose), Belami, Black Lady, Paradise, Blue Moon and Lady X which blossom during February to March. Apart from this, rose varieties named after famous people like Mother Teresa, Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Abraham Lincoln, John F. Kennedy, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Queen Elizabeth, Christian Dior and mythological characters of Arjun and Bhim are also grown in the Mughal Gardens.
Also, Asiatic lilies, daffodils, hyacinth and 60 types of bougainvilleas are grown in flower beds of alyssum, daisy, pansy and other flowers. Apart from the floral beauty, you can also view 50 varieties of trees, shrubs and vines including Golden Rain tree, flower bearing Torch Tree, Moulsiri tree and many more. The grass all over the garden area was originally brought in from Kolkata. The best way to view all of this is by going to the first story of the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
What’s Special This Year?
The Udyanotsav at Mughal Gardens will have a spectacular show of exotic flowers and bulbous winter flowerings from Japan and Netherlands. Besides this, the 15-acre garden will have a beautiful display of 10,000 tulip varieties, 137 rose varieties of roses and more than 70 varieties of seasonal flowers.

Things To Know
Location: Gate no. 35, Rashtrapati Bhavan
How To Reach: Central Secretariat is the nearest metro station. You need to exit from the way towards Rail Bhavan.
Booking: Entry to the Mughal Gardens is free of cost during Udyanotsav (held every year from February to March). You only need to book the time slot via thewebsite (Explore Rashtrapati Bhavan--> Plan Your Visit tab) to be part of the online queue or you can walk in directly.
Timings: Mughal Gardens are open for public viewing till 10 March 2019 during the Udyanotsav from 9 am to 4 pm. It is only closed on Mondays for maintenance.
