Highlights From The Colourful Jaipur Kite Festival

Jaipur Kite Festival, also known as the International Kite Festival is extremely popular among people all across the world. This colourful festival brings along everyone together where they fly their kites high in the air and celebrate Makar Sankranti. It is the time when kite flyers can flaunt their kite flying skills and compete with each other. Kites of all shapes, sizes, and colours take over the clear blue skies and the view is something really out of this world! 

Significance

Jaipur Kite Festival is organised on 14th of January every year i.e Makar Sankranti. This day is considered really auspicious. It is believed that the sun begins its northward journey on this day. 

The Celebrations

A lot of people participate in the Jaipur Kite Festival which starts off at the Jaipur Polo Ground.  Kite flyers can choose from the Kite War and the Friendly Kite Flying session. This is a three-day-long festival where different competitions take place. The prize distribution happens on the last day of the event. Traditional Rajasthani performances and delicious Rajasthani food further make it a memorable event for all the visitors.
