Payal recently shared a picture of her resignation letter from Samgram’s Charitable Trust on Instagram, fueling speculations of a possible separation. The post read, “I hereby tender my resignation from the position of Director of Sangram Singh Charitable Foundation with immediate effect due to personal reasons."
It further read, “I request the Board to kindly accept my resignation and take the necessary steps to file the requisite forms with the Registrar of Companies. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity to be associated with the Foundation, and I wish the organisation continued success in all its endeavours."

Her cryptic caption, “Sometimes peace looks like distance,” only nudged the rumours that Payal might be in a strained marital relationship with the wrestler and the two are possibly headed for divorce. However, the couple hasn’t made any official announcement about their separation yet.

In December 2024, a video went viral, featuring Payal and Sangram in a heated argument. In the video, Payal could be seen accusing Sangram of mistreatment and taunting her for not being able to conceive. She also criticised his family for having an orthodox mindset, alleging they believe that a woman’s role is limited to cooking, bearing a child, and spending her entire life behind a veil (ghunghat). “Tumhare ghar mein aurato ke sath aise baat ki jaati hai. Tum log padhe-likhe nahi ho theek hai, par aise baat ki jaati hai,” Payal was heard saying.
