tips for bridal makeup

Wedding season is approaching and wedding makeup is a quintessential part for every bride. A makeup look can make or break a bride’s outfit. Before getting your makeup done you have a lot of things to take care of; from your water intake to the season of your wedding.

We at HerZindagi have made a list of things you need to consider and keep in mind before getting your bridal makeup done.

The Wedding Season

A lot of brands forget to take the season that they are getting married in into consideration. Bridal makeup given the season can be heavy or light. If it’s a summer wedding then try something lighter and matte given the sweating. But if it’s winter you can go for a heavier makeup with a foundation that is non drying.

Even the time of your wedding plays a huge part in getting your makeup done. If it’s an all day long wedding then you should go for a long lasting and waterproof makeup look.

Foundation To Your Liking

Foundations are tricky; not beca they are hard to apply but because it is hard to find the right shade for your skin tone and skin type. Not every foundation goes with every skin type; oily skin might be better with a matte formula with baking technique but someone with dry skin should use a foundation which is hydrated and non drying.

Keep in mind to shade match your foundation before your big day as foundation after application may go up or down a shade due to oxidisation. Make sure to buy the shade which matches your skin tone to the T.

Lipstick Made For You

Wedding season is the season for bold ruby reds but not everyone is comfortable with a bold lip. Try to wear a lipstick that you are comfortable in. Make sure the lipstick suits your skin tone, it is quite hard to find the perfect lipstick for brown skin tones so try to be cautious while choosing a lip shade.

Don’t forget to put on a lip balm before your lipstick as it will make sure to keep your lips hydrated. If you are using a matte shade make sure it’s hydrating since you don’t want dry lips on your wedding day.

Use waterproof makeup

A big part of any wedding is the ‘bidaai’; the big farewell where parents bid a farewell to their daughter who is ready to start a new journey with her husband. It is known for brides to shed tears during their ‘bidaai’. Waterproof makeup will definitely keep you ready for those ‘bidaai’ pictures.

Indian weddings are long and tiring so waterproof makeup will keep the makeup intact during the whole time. No sweat shall ruin your wedding pictures this time.

Makeup trial

Before your wedding day or days before it; have a trial of your bridal makeup look. At times what you think will look good can come out completely different. Have a trial and make sure you look your best for your big day.

Balanced look

A balanced look is important for all makeup looks. Make sure your bridal look is balanced; a good balanced look creates a beautiful makeup medley. ‘Na kam, na zyada’ is a saying in India which means ‘less nor more’; a perfect balance.

Having a really bold lip can be balanced with a softer eye look while a bold eye can be balanced with a softer lip. A balance in any makeup look you go for will elevate your bridal look.
