Activated Charcoal And Gelatin Peel-Off Face Mask

The activated charcoal face mask has become one of the most viral peel-off face masks on the internet over the years. But do you know how to make one? No? Don’t worry, we’ll tell you how.

To those who don’t know, activated charcoal is more porous than normal charcoal so it works more effectively. It works as a natural “magnet” and draws out the dirt, grime, oil, and toxins from the facial skin pores. It can also work wonders for removing your blackheads, whiteheads and even in reducing your wrinkles, and fine lines.

On the other hand, using gelatin in this mask can make it easier to peel off than glue-based ones. However, this face mask is great for people with oily skin, if you have dry or sensitive skin, you should skip it as it can cause irritation or dryness.

Method

  • Take 1/2 teaspoon of activated charcoal powder in a small bowl.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of unflavored gelatin powder to the bowl.
  • Then, add 1.5 tablespoons of warm water.
  • Combine all the ingredients well until you get a paste-like consistency. If the mixture is too sticky, you can microwave it for 10-15 seconds to get a smooth mixture.
  • Now, apply the mixture to your clean skin using a brush. Also, avoid applying the mask too close to your eyes, eyebrows, and hairline as it can be painful to remove it from those areas.
  • Leave the mask on for about 20-30 minutes and then, gently peel it off in an upward direction.
  • Then, wash your face with lukewarm water to remove any leftover particles.
  • Pat your skin dry and apply moisturizer.
  • Apply this peel-off face mask once or twice a month to achieve the desired results.

Lemon And Egg Peel-Off Face Mask

If you have acne-prone skin, then this can be your go-to peel-off mask!

It is one of the easiest masks to make and you don’t even need gelatin. Egg whites contain an enzyme called lysozyme which has antibacterial properties. It can not only help in reducing the appearance of acne but can also work wonders for your ageing skin as it has the ability to tighten the skin pores.

Also, for oily skin, the egg white can clarify the hair follicles that make too much oil (sebum).

Lemon juice, on the other hand, can simply brighten your skin by removing blackheads, whiteheads, and other impurities gently.

Method

  • Take one egg and separate the egg white from the yolk.
  • Then, add the egg white to a bowl.
  • Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to the bowl.
  • Combine both the ingredients well.
  • After that, apply half of the egg-lemon mixture to your face leaving the eye area.
  • Then, take a tissue paper and gently press it onto your skin so that it sticks to the mixture.
  • Now, wait for 2-3 minutes, and then, apply the remaining mixture onto your face using a brush. You can repeat this layering process one more time if you wish.
  • Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes.
  • Once it dries, carefully peel off the mask.
  • Wash your face to remove the remaining bits of the mask and to bid adieu to the smell of the egg.
  • Apply this face mask once or twice a month to get best results.
