My dry and frizzy hair always needs a pampering session and has its mood swings that cannot be ignored especially when the wedding and the festive season is on. I had a major hair fall a few months back which is now okay but the baby hair is an issue as it is all over the scalp. Since my hair is tied up in a bun all day in this heat, the dryness has increased so I tried this hair mask which has ceramide and pea protein. I tried for three weeks and here is my detailed review of Re'equil Pea Protein & Ceramide Hair Mask.
Re'equil Pea Protein & Ceramide Hair Mask is a richly textured, hair mask that has the benefits of ceramides and pea amino acids. It repairs, moisturise sand flattens the raised cuticles and smoothens out hair into a perfect velvety texture. The mask restores hair balance and strengthens the shaft while providing a protective barrier around the hair strands. Along with lending shine and volume to straight hair, it redefines and retains the curls. A sulphate and silicone-free formulation enriched with ceramides and omega-3 fatty acids, it moisturises the scalp and envelopes hair in a layer of smoothness.
The brand claims that it has these ingredients:
Hydrolysed Pea Protein: This plant-based protein offers optimal hydration to hair which means more hydrated are the hair, less they are prone to breakage. Its high amino acid content does not only help to strengthen the weak hair strand but also makes your hair look healthy, shiny, and voluminous.
Ceramides: Ceramides help to keep hair cuticles flat that ultimately increase the resistance to wear and tear conditions. In addition, they also help to restore the elasticity, moisture retention, and shine by deeply nourishing and replenishing the hair.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Omega-3 fatty acids benefit the hair in multiple ways such as boost hair growth and promote the hair shine and luster as well. They foster the hair follicles with essential proteins and nutrients that ultimately contribute to good looking hair.
Full List of Ingredients: Aqua, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Hydrolysed Pea Protein, Linoleic Acid (and) Linolenic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Butylene Glycol, Brassicamidopropyl Dimethylamine, Polyquaternium-37, Ceramide IIIB, Xylitylglucoside, Anhydroxylitol, Erythritol, Isoamyl Laurate, Behenyl Alcohol, Sodium Benzoate, Xylitol, Potassium Sorbate, Aspartic Acid, Fragrance.
The hair mask comes in a sturdy plastic tub with a second layer of a plastic capping under the lid that stops the mask from spilling out. The only catch is that you have to scoop in for the product which some may find to be an issue during a bath as the hands are wet. So those who are very fussy about such things may have a problem. I, however, was fine with it as I do not have to put it in the effort to squeeze out the product for my long and thick hair which needs atleast two scoops in quantity each time.
One more feature that I liked is that it had all the ingredients mentioned on it. For those unaware, some of the top brands do not mention all the ingredients involved in the making of their product which should be taken as a major red alert as these definitely have chemicals. If there is nothing to hide then why no transparency? So this is the first factor you must always checkout whenever you buy anything that goes on your skin and inside your body.
Re'equil Pea Protein & Ceramide Hair Mask is available for Rs 695, with a quantity of 200 g.
It is a nice soft whipped creamy mask which is very smooth to apply and distribute on the strands of your hair.
The hair mask has a soft and mild fragrance which is subtle enough to make you feel clean and fresh and not give a headache.
I have used this mask thrice by now over a period of three weeks. When I go for a normal hair wash with a conditioner routine, I go for a twice a week head wash and when my hair needs proper hydration with some dedicated pampering, the regular washing is mid-week and a detailed one is on the weekend when I am not working.
In three uses I can say that it certainly has started working. I have dry frizzy hair with numerous baby hair ruining my crown due to a hair fallfest I experienced before lockdown. The mask felt good as I applied and kept it like that for 20 minutes with a shower cap covering. The brand suggests that you can use it twice a week. So it depends on how badly your hair needs the treatment.
