The third season of ‘Squid Game season 3 was released on June 27, 2025, bringing an end to Netflix’s popular thriller series. The finale tied all loose ends and made up for how pointless the second season felt. It brought a deadlier end to the show with more brutal games and bigger moral dilemmas. However, as the season reached its peak, some fights and characters felt completely pointless. Gi-hun’s fate undid everything he fought for. Humanity sank to its lowest, survival came at a brutal cost, and the victory of one unexpected player changed everything. While we thought that Gi-hun might bring the end to these inhuman games, the ending says otherwise.
Squid Game Season 3: Who Dies Or Wins In The End?
We believe in happy endings but the makers of Squid Game clearly don’t. After winning the game for the first time, no one would wish to come back in their right mind, but Gi-hun did. Everything he fought for or put himself through went in vain as his fate came knocking. “We are not horses. We are humans,” were his final words to those who take advantage of the economic divide and enjoy these brutal games, using people as pawns for their entertainment. He makes the ultimate sacrifice in the end by jumping off the tower rather than killing the newborn. This unexpected twist makes the newborn girl of player 222, the ultimate winner of the game.
Squid Game Season 3: What Happens To Every Character In The End?
The final season brings a conclusion to everyone’s story. The brother of Front Man, Detective Hwang Jun-ho escaped safely from the Island and 6 months later unexpectedly found the baby/player 222 at his home along with a small envelope that contained the winner’s credit card. The guard, Kang No-eu also managed to escape from the games and later got a call getting information on her daughter’s whereabouts.
The ending scenes also show Gyeong-seok/player 246 to be the only contestant to escape the game. He reunites with his daughter who is cured of cancer now. Also, Gi-hun’s daughter who lived with her mother had stopped waiting for his father to come back a long time ago before the Front Man turned up on her doorstep carrying Gi-hun’s belongings and his prize money, informing his daughter that he is no more.
