House Of The Dragon Season 3 Release Date Window
The third season of House of the Dragon has already started filming. Production began in March 2025 at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, with more scenes being shot in Wales and the Canary Islands. Just like Season 2, Season 3 will have eight episodes. Since the show is heavy on special effects, especially with dragons and battle scenes, post-production will take about a year. This means the most likely release window is summer 2026.
House Of The Dragon Season 3: Plot Hints
House Of The Dragon Season 3 will begin right where Season 2 ended. With the Targaryen civil war heating up. The Blacks, led by Rhaenyra, now have more dragons, giving them an edge. But the Greens, with Aegon II and Ser Otto Hightower, are preparing their counterattack. One of the season’s biggest moments will be the Battle of the Gullet, a large naval and dragon fight that’s expected to be a visual spectacle.
There will also be more focus on Aegon II’s emotional journey, as the character begins to reflect on his actions and struggles with leadership. Rhaenyra, on the other hand, is expected to become more ruthless. The creators have also teased a special “concept episode” that will show the war from a common person’s point of view.
